北京中加学校于1996年12月27日获北京市教育委员会正式批准，并于教委立案，于1997年3月26日在人民大会堂隆重成立，1997年9月1日正式开学。北京中加学校的成立与开办得到了两国的大力支持与关怀。北京中加学校于1997年9月被吸收为联合国教科文组织(UNESCO)北京站成员。
北京中加学校是北京市所中外合作全住读式，实施普通高中及高中后加拿大高等专科学段教育的新型双语教学的学校。合作办学的双方是北京师范大学附属实验中学与加拿大纽宾士域省教育部和加拿大加皇国际教育集团。学校以为我
